Kinky Unplugged Will Feature a Bevy of Guests

By Bianca D.

Mexico’s electronic-alt rockers, Kinky, took to their social media to let us all know that they finished doing Kinky Unplugged. As a long-time fan of theirs, I’m quite excited about this! On their Facebook and Twitter they proudly exlaimed, “Que cabron quedo el Unplugged! Gracias Carla Morrison, Mala Rodriguez, Diego Luna, Voz de Mando, Beto Zapata, Recoditos y a toda la gente de MTV por hacer esto realidad!! #KinkyUnplugged coming sooooon!”

Their list alone made me excited but then came pictures like this one:

MTV Tr3s later uploaded pictures from the actual show on their Facebook.

Here we see Kinky sharing the stage with Carla Morrison.

This image has Kinky sharing the stage with Grupo Voz de Mando and Beto Zapata on what must be a fusion of música norteña with electronic music–Kinky’s expertise.

Kinky and Mala Rodriguez
Next, Kinky invited Mala Rodriguez to sing “Negro Día,” a hit from 2011.

Kinky Unplugged
Kinky also did a cover of El Chapo de Sinaloa’s “Para Que Regreses.”

Kinky and Banda Los Recoditos
The show concluded with bringing Banda Los Recoditos on stage.

It looks as though Kinky Unplugged showcased the way that the band has managed to fuse so many genres from Regional Mexicano to Rock to Electronic music. Can’t wait to see the full show but for now, I’ll settle for looking at everything #KinkyUnplugged has posted online!
